Getting out of my comfort zone and working in various industry sectors.  Last book read: The Bell and the Blackbird, by David Whyte.  Recently viewed and recommended: Goliath (Amazon).  

What one word would your closest friend use to describe you? Authentic.  Moral compass: Do the right thing even when no one is looking.  How do you define an ideal business relationship? Mutual respect and collaborative spirit.  What is your greatest joy? Spending time with my family, creating memories.  What natural talent have you neglected? Photography.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Social workers.  What is at the top of your bucket list? Patagonia.  How do you relieve stress? Hiking and being immersed in nature.

What was your first paying job? Potting plants at a nursery.  What movie have you repeatedly watched? The Shawshank Redemption.  What’s the best advice you received growing up? Always be kind.  What’s the best advice you received in your career? The fastest route is not always a straight line.  What is your go-to source of news and information? The New York Times and NPR.  What is your go-to source of creative inspiration? Meditation and hiking.  What personal circumstance has had the greatest influence on your life? Coming to the US as a young immigrant and having the freedom to make my own life choices.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field?

To develop innovative ways to improve labor working conditions within global supply chains.

What change would you like to see in the world? Greater tolerance and acceptance of views that may be different than our own.  What widely held belief do you reject? That “I’ll be happy when…”.  We have control over our happiness.  What mega-trend most excites you? Space travel. What mega-trend most concerns you? Reliance on alternative facts.

What title would you choose for the movie about your life? Peaks and Valleys.  What actor would you choose to play you in the movie about your life? Alicia Vikander.  Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Harriet Tubman.  After your loved ones, what object would you first save from your burning home? My passport.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? Somewhere in the mountains, with my loved ones, sharing memories and gratitude for a life well lived.  What advice would you give your younger self? Let go of what no longer serves you; hold on to the lessons.
