One of mutual support and interest. Backed by the occasional impulsive adventure.  What is your greatest fear? Not being the best version of myself.  What is your guilty pleasure? Spending a tad too much time and money on fishing and golf.  What natural talent have you neglected? My social ability. What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Oil and Gas operation workers – who face terrible weather and long nights.  What is at the top of your bucket list? Rent a boat by myself and navigate the wild Amazon River for peacock bass and piranhas.  How do you relieve stress? Being Outside, whether it be fishing, golfing, grilling, or just relaxing in a hammock.

What was your first paying job? I worked at a golf course in Katy as a cart boy.  What was your favorite college course? Texas History.  What movie have you repeatedly watched? Good Will Hunting.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? A map I made in college about Caprock Canyon State Park.  What’s the best advice you received in your career? The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.  What is your go-to source of creative inspiration? As a GIS guy, I appreciate seeing some of the creative maps that people create using ArcGIS software.  What world event has had the greatest influence on your life? The COVID pandemic.  I learned self-motivation and how to navigate difficult situations.

What is your big idea?

Combine GIS software with my hobby of fishing to possibly make a business in mapping lakes and river systems.

What widely held belief do you reject? That everyone who disagrees with you wants to do harm to others.  What mega-trend most excites you? Evolving transformation in AI technology.

Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Stephen F. Austin of the Texas Revolution.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? A professional fisherman.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? On a boat fishing with my dad.  What advice would you give your younger self? Everything will be okay. Emphasize not missing those fishing trips and bike rides with friends, as those are vital memories that are greatly cherished.  What period in your life would you do differently, if you could? College freshman year.

Personal mission: To be my best self, while surrounding myself with others who help me accomplish this goal.  Personal motto: Don’t take life too seriously. You’ll never get out of it alive. Favorite quote: “The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be” (Ralph Waldo Emerson).
