What’s been your big (or biggest leap)? Taking a position in mid-1990s as the controller of a publicly traded company despite not having a formal background in finance. What is your big idea? Creating a conduit for female athletes to go back to being corporate athletes after their first career sunsets. It’s more challenging for women to make this transition than it is for men. What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field? Bringing awareness to microaggressions women face that chip away at their confidence in the workplace and at home every day. What change would you like to see in the world? More grace, less hostility. What message do you want to send out into the world? While most people wake up in the morning wanting to be their best selves, it’s the outer influences - the things they do not control - that often set them off track. What widely held belief do you reject? Women gain more from having female mentors. What mega-trend most excites you? Globalization. What mega-trend most concerns you? Rampant misuse of technology to replace personalized service.

I would not have agreed to remain on board with my first company during the subsequent CEO transition.
