Moral compass: If it doesn’t feel right, it isn’t right.  I base my ethical decisions on intuition and integrity.  What is your greatest joy? Spending time and playing with my son.  What is your greatest fear? Not being able to provide for my family.  What word or phrase do you use far too often? It is what it is.  What natural talent have you neglected? Public speaking.  What occupation, other than your own, do you most admire? Doctors.  Their dedication, skill, and ability to save lives are truly admirable.  What is at the top of your bucket list? Completing all six Abbott World Marathon Majors.  What ingredient is essential to your perfect vacation? Adventure and exploration.

What was your favorite college course? Business Strategy & Decision Making.  What book have you repeatedly read? El Evangelio Según Jesucristo, by José Saramago.  What movie have you repeatedly watched? The Pursuit of Happyness.  What’s prominently featured on your home or office wall? A world map and marathon medals.  What’s the best advice you received growing up? Success is built on discipline, not motivation.  Hard work and consistency always win in the long run.  What modern technology innovation do you most appreciate? Artificial intelligence. The ability to analyze vast amounts of data and optimize decision-making is transforming industries.  What is your go-to source of news and information? Financial Times and Bloomberg.

What change are you working on to effect in your profession or field?

Promote the widespread adoption of renewable energy solutions across industries and governments.

What change would you like to see in the world? I would like to see the world transition to a low-carbon, sustainable economy.  What message do you want to send out into the world? The future of energy is sustainable, and we all play a part in creating it. Each of us has the responsibility to contribute to a cleaner world.  What widely held belief do you reject? Sustainable energy solutions are too expensive and impractical.  What mega-trend most concerns you? The slow pace of global policy adoption for climate change and sustainable energy solutions.

What title would you choose for the movie about your life? Running Toward Tomorrow: A Journey of Energy, Passion and Perseverance.  Who would you like to spend an evening with, in heaven? Winston Churchill.  As a kid, what did you first want to be when you grew up? I first dreamed of becoming an airplane pilot.  How would you choose to spend tomorrow, if you knew it was your last day on earth? Enjoying a picnic with my family and friends at my favorite park.  What advice would you give your younger self? Discipline frees you from doubt, fear and uncertainty, enabling you to become the best version of yourself.
