Mako Medical is a leading healthcare diagnostics company that specializes in laboratory services, including the development of custom tests and products. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, we serve healthcare professionals and patients across ten states. We offer timely and precise laboratory results that empower clinicians to make informed decisions.
Mako Medical was founded in 2014 by my brother Adam Price and our mutual friend Josh Arant. Motivated by our personal experiences with the healthcare system, we aimed to create a company that would disrupt the industry by providing more efficient and compassionate laboratory services. We started with limited resources, renting a small facility, and gradually built our capabilities through dedication and innovation.
Our commitment to innovation and community engagement differentiates us. We have developed proprietary technologies and integrated advanced robotics to enhance accuracy and efficiency in our laboratories. Additionally, we prioritize hiring military veterans and actively support over 300 nonprofits, reflecting our dedication to making a positive impact beyond healthcare services.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mako Medical rapidly scaled our operations to process over 13 million tests, utilizing RT-PCR technology and industry-leading testing assays. Our ability to adapt and expand our services during this critical time underscores our commitment to public health and our capacity to meet urgent healthcare needs.
Looking ahead, we aim to expand our laboratory services nationwide, establishing facilities in all 50 states within the next three years. We are also focused on developing new proprietary tests and technologies to continue improving patient care. Our vision includes increasing our philanthropic efforts, supporting more nonprofits, and creating additional employment opportunities for military veterans.
Creating a better, healthier future for us all means constantly innovating and moving forward.
Helping create healthier communities is our goal, and lab services play a larger role than you might expect in making that goal a reality. After all, you can’t fix a problem or innovate a solution if you haven’t first identified what’s going on.
From diagnosing health problems to studying DNA and giving patients hyper-personalized treatments and health plans, lab tests give us the right information to deliver the right solutions and better health outcomes to every member of our society so we can all live longer, fuller lives.
