Universal Events, Inc. CEO Harmony Vallejo talks about the organization's work helping nonprofits actualize their mission, engage their donors and make a difference in their communities.

What’s the mandate of Universal Events, Inc.?

Universal Events, Inc. plays an important role in helping nonprofit organizations by effectively managing their administrative functions and also by providing tailor-made marketing strategies for their campaigns. By taking on this role, we enable nonprofits to concentrate exclusively on their core programs. The main objective is to improve public understanding of these nonprofits, which leads to increased engagement with their donor bases while also strengthening brand awareness.

Our firm provides results to clients by developing a strategic long-term vision through continuous, high-exposure marketing efforts. As CEO, I give my staff the mandate to effect positive change and create enduring impacts on our clients’ communities.

Tell us about some of the key steps, challenges and decisions that shaped the foundation of Universal Events Inc. during its inception?

Universal Events Inc. was founded with a clear vision to bridge the gap between nonprofit organizations and their goals. In order to identify the primary needs of nonprofits, we’ve developed a thorough program for identifying administrative and marketing steps drawing on its collective experience through decades of work in the sector. The key challenge is to help nonprofit organizations understand the value of outsourcing key responsibilities, and the only way to do that is by building a track record of success. That means more possibilities for public awareness, donor commitment and brand popularity. On top of that, we develop more strategic and forward-looking marketing that empowers our partners to grow and build for the future.

Can you share some highlights of recent events or projects organized by Universal Events, Inc.?

Our firm has always put a big emphasis on community involvement. An example of this is our annual toy drive, which is part of a larger program to support local communities in need. Other initiatives include back-to-school and winter kit drives, as well as efforts to support local foster care and international disaster relief programs.

The goal of these programs is to bring joy to children, to help them with their education, and help ensure they have safe homes. By working with nonprofit organizations and investing in local communities, Universal Events invests in the welfare of a broad range of sectors in our society, something that is at the heart of our core mission.

What’s the organization’s mission?  What’s your “big idea”?

Our mission at Universal Events is to play an important role in the success of nonprofits by undertaking support functions and coming up with effective marketing strategies that allow them to concentrate their resources on their key programs. The big idea is that through this process, our nonprofit partners will ultimately enjoy greater awareness and visibility, more donor involvement, and stronger brand recognition.

We believe that the power of many hands can bring about positive development by enhancing community participation and charitable giving. Our goal is to cultivate a wider sense of responsibility toward the welfare of others.

What do you see for Universal Events, Inc. in the long-term?

The long-term vision of Universal Events, Inc. is to continually improve our role as a link between nonprofit organizations, their core programs, and the communities they serve. We aim to partner with diverse nonprofits operating in different niches to increase their reach and influence in community programming as a whole. By keeping nonprofit organizations viable and growing, and by encouraging community engagement, we can play a role in building a more hopeful and positive future for everyone.
