Hilary is a Consulting Editor at The Principal Post.
She is a free-lance writer, educator, and former academic who holds a B.A. in French and History, an M.A. in History, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from University College Dublin, as well as a Ph.D. in History from the University of Cambridge. She has published a monograph on the history English national identity, and is also the author of a book on nineteenth and early twentieth-century Irish history. She also has written numerous articles for scholarly journals and books.
Hilary has been an educator for twenty years, teaching at both university and secondary levels in Ireland, the UK and the USA. Most recently, she has taught at the University of Kansas, Rockhurst University and Catholic University of America.
Currently, she is active as an educational consultant at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, working with Syzygy Global Education and Wentworth Education.
With a background in music and the arts that includes diplomas in both violin and drama from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin, she is also a free-lance writer on culture and the arts for publications such as Bachtrack, Gramophone Magazine and Opera Wire. She has reviewed symphony, ballet and opera in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Kansas City.
Originally from Ireland, Hilary now resides in the Kansas City area with her family.
