ABOUT

John Fennell is an award-winning journalist and editor who has worked in print and online for such news outlets as City News Bureau (Chicago), the Herald Palladium (Benton Harbor, MI), the Chicago Daily News, Step-by-Step Graphics magazine and Milwaukee Magazine. He is the author of “Ready, Fire, Aim,” a business biography of printing industry icon Harry V. Quadracci who founded Quad Graphics (2006). Following a 25-year career in newspapers and magazines, he was named the Meredith Chair in Service Journalism at the Missouri School ofJournalism, the first journalism school in the world. There he taught writing, editing, graphic design and magazine publishing. He is now an emeritus professor at the school. John coordinates the Lowell Thomas Awards for the Society of American Travel Writers and consults for the National City and Regional Magazine Awards. John is also an artist (johnfennellart.com) who regularly exhibits his paintings.
