His corporate experience includes executive management roles at leading media companies (Meredith, Time Inc., Hearst), launching, directing and scaling highly profitable, category-defining brands, including InStyle, Real Simple, Cosmopolitan and O, The Oprah Magazine.
He has specific expertise driving growth, innovation, efficiencies and collaboration across brand portfolios — and overseeing business and talent development, DEI strategies, multimillion-dollar operating budgets, revenue-driving partnerships and global licensing deals.
A native New Yorker, Lavinel studied French at Columbia University and earned both his M.S. in Publishing and M.B.A. in Marketing from New York University, where he teaches graduate courses in media management, finance and leadership. He lives in Manhattan with his partner and three daughters.
